Devotees Carry Virgin of El Rocío through the night, rain and all | Shalom World News Heavy rain did not stop thousands of devotees from carrying the Virgin of El Rocio through the night to Almonte, Spain. The rain forced organizers to place a transparent waterproof cover over the centuries-old image as it was carried through the streets. The Virgin was carried 15.7 kms on the shoulders of residents, taking nearly 20 hours to reach the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The image will remain in Almonte for the coming months, where pilgrims and religious brotherhoods will visit her before she returns to her sanctuary.

Today, Leo XIV published a message for the 2026 World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. He adopts the ecological vocabulary closely associated with Francis’ pontificate. Citing Laudato Si’, he speaks of an “authentic ecological conversion” and in metaphors such as “the ecosystems of the human heart.” The message also contains a naïve statement on warfare. “The true tools for building peace are not weapons of destruction,” Leo writes, listing instead “truth, dialogue, patience, goodness, justice, mercy, understanding, care and love.” Leo XIV enfolds an earthly program of disarmament, poverty reduction and ecological improvement: “Let us imagine a world in which the energies currently invested in war are directed toward integral human development, to overcoming poverty, protecting human dignity and reconciling divided peoples. Such a vision reflects faith in the coming of God’s Kingdom.” #newsUadwzxlixo
Why does any Roman Catholic heed Provost when Saint Pius V forbade any change to the Latin Liturgy of Trent? This whole argument is a joke. And the successors to Roncalli know it and sit in mortal sin for this viovation
The prayer is good. St. Alphonsus is good. But, I can't listen to women with little gaga gogo voices. Makes me crazy. They do the same thing on EWTN, only with an English accent. Why?
The University of Notre Dame's McGrath Institute for Church Life has published on July 17 a report containing twelve proposals for assessing candidates for the priesthood. Entitled, "Do You Know Them to Be Worthy?", the file was written by Father Thomas V. Berg and psychologist Timothy G. Lock. The report draws on research commissioned from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and a consultation held at Notre Dame in September 2025. The proposals concern psychological assessment, candidates with particular psychological or developmental conditions, and formation for chastity and celibacy. It addresses candidates with conditions including ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and autism spectrum disorder. On homosexual attraction, the Notre Dame authors note that a pause in formation may "more often than not" lead to a decision not to advance a candidate toward ordination. The authors think the pause is needed to assess four things: - how the man understands his identity; …More
St. Bridget was told by the Lord that bad priests are not truly His priests, but true betrayesr, worse than Judas in some ways, because they sell Christ after He has already redeemed the world. They handle the sacred Host while living in lust, greed, and double lives, then return to sin with firm intention. The priesthood is the greatest dignity on earth, but also carries the strictest judgment (James 3:1).
"War will come from the south, peace from the north North is said to be Russia! The South, Islam. "But behold, a great warrior from the north appears, a banner in his right hand, his arm bearing this inscription: 'Irresistible is the hand of the Lord.' At that moment the Venerable Old Man of Rome went forward to meet him, wielding a flaming torch. The banner then grew larger and its blackness became white as snow; in its center stood out the name of the Almighty in golden letters.
THE QUEENSHIP OF MARY - August 22 Memorial According to ancient tradition and the sacred liturgy the main principle on which the royal dignity of Mary rests is without doubt her Divine Motherhood. In Holy Writ, concerning the Son whom Mary will conceive, We read this sentence: "He shall be called the Son of the most High, and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign in the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end,"[Lk I, 32, 33] and in addition Mary is called "Mother of the Lord"; from this it is easily concluded that she is a Queen, since she bore a son who, at the very moment of His conception, because of the hypostatic union of the human nature with the Word, was also as man King and Lord of all things. So with complete justice St. John Damascene could write: "When she became Mother of the Creator, she truly became Queen of every creature." Likewise, it can be said that the heavenly voice of the Archangel Gabriel was …More

Slovak pro-LGBT Catholic priest Adam Štefanec, 29, of the Diocese of Žilina said in an August 12 video that he does not like the word “God.” Rev. Štefanec believes that the term had accumulated so many associations that it no longer speaks to people today. “I try to find words that are universal,” he said, naming “humanity” as a universal value. Asked what Christ wants from people, Rev. Štefanec said the answer is “different for everyone,” different in every age, and “constantly changing.” Previously, Rev. Štefanec has supported homosex civil partnerships and said that homosexuality is not a sin.
Kňaz Adam Štefanec, ktorý vo videách obhajoval LGBT, poskytol Adele Vinczeovej rozhovor plný nehorázností: „Nemám rád slovo Boh“!
Leo XIV met Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the Vatican on Thursday for talks focused on Lebanon’s deteriorating security situation and efforts to implement the Trilateral Framework Agreement. Aoun asked the pope to continue pressing for an end to Israeli attacks and withdrawal from Lebanese territory, while seeking Vatican support for a diplomatic path toward peace. The two leaders also discussed strengthening Lebanese state authority and placing decisions of war and peace solely in the hands of the state amid renewed violence in the country’s south.

"For me, the Church is synodal," said Bishop Heiner Wilmer, 65, in an interview with Kirche-Und-Leben.de on 21 August. He is the chairman of the German Bishops’ Conference. In March 2026, Pope Leo XIV promoted the pro-homosexual bishop to Münster, the largest diocese in Germany. Monsignor Wilmer said that synodality is "deeply rooted" in Münster diocese. He added that he was looking forward to "the common journey with many baptised people, but also internationally, ecumenically, and with our Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters". Grateful for Lay Preaching When asked about lay preaching during Eucharists, Bishop Wilmer admitted that he there are "many" baptised women and men who had been engaging with this issue for years, and that a culture had developed around it. Wilmer has "great respect for this established tradition" and is "deeply grateful" for it. He is "convinced that the wonderful pastoral workers will find a good way to deal with the circumstances” - taking about the Vatican's …More
