Leo XIV Carries Cross Himself in Rome's Colosseum Because "Christ Still Suffers"

Speaking to journalists in Castel Gandolfo this evening, Pope Leo XIV called on world leaders to “come back to the table” and solve their problems through dialogue (video below).
"I'm told that President Trump recently said he wanted to end the war. Hopefully, he is looking for a way out. I hope he's looking for a way to reduce the violence and bombing, which would significantly help to reduce the constant increase in hatred in the Middle East and elsewhere."
Leo XIV added, "Come back to the table and engage in dialogue. Let's look for solutions to problems and ways to reduce violence, so that peace — especially at Easter — might reign in our hearts."
The Pope was also asked about his decision to personally carry the cross during the traditional Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum on Friday. "I think it will be an important sign because of what the Pope represents: a spiritual leader in today's world and a voice saying that Christ still suffers."
When asked what he expects from his …وڌيڪ

Bishop Barron’s Attempt To Rehabilitate Judas Iscariot

On March 29, 2026, Bishop Robert Barron used Palm Sunday to soften the Church’s warnings about Judas, hell, and damnation. Scripture, the Roman Catechism, and the Catholic tradition say otherwise.
There is something grotesque about using Palm Sunday to rehabilitate Judas.
That is what Bishop Robert Barron effectively did in his March 29 Fox News column. He acknowledged that the overwhelming theological tradition regarded Judas as damned, then shifted the reader’s attention to the Vézelay image beloved by Francis, floated the hope that Judas might have been saved, invoked postconciliar caution about naming anyone in hell, and folded the whole thing into his familiar theology of overwhelming mercy. Instead of an exhortation to fear betrayal, despair, avarice, sacrilege, and final impenitence, it was another attempt to blunt the edge of Christ’s warnings.
Barron’s defenders will say that he did not preach formal universalism. They are right in the narrowest, most lawyerly sense. Word on …

Pope Francis was big on rehabilitating Judas. So is a parish priest in my local area. What gives?? They want to think everyone is saved so they have to encounter the problem of Judas.

From this series of papal writings, it is clear there were three conditions to maintaining use of a missal that existed prior to the Roman Missal's changes: the missal being used could not contain doctrinal error, it had to be of "ancient use" (not an innovation), and its use had to be continuous (the people attached to the missal had maintained its use uninterrupted, by not adopting the "new revised" missal. I fail to see how the 1962 missal does not meet these three requirements.

EU Watchdog Exposes Romania’s Judicial Coup Against the People, Says Top Court Rewrote Rules to Stop Georgescu – Allah's Willing Executioners

Călin Georgescu via Facebook
A bombshell report from the Civil Liberties Union for Europe has unintentionally exposed what many right-wing populist, conservative, and anti-globalist voices have long warned: Romania’s democratic system is being reshaped by unelected institutions enforcing ideological conformity.
The
Liberties Rule of Law Report 2026 places Romania under a harsh spotlight, centering its criticism on the annulment of the 2024 presidential election and the exclusion of anti-establishment candidates.
At the heart of the report is a striking conclusion. The Constitutional Court of Romania is accused of having “effectively changed the law,” a move described as abusive and a direct threat to legal certainty.
This is not a minor technical violation. It is, as even the report suggests, a fundamental rupture in the democratic process—one that rewrote the rules of political competition after the fact.
The decision in question erased the results of a national election and barred …

Marian Sanctuary in Northern Italy Denies Entry to FSSPX Pilgrimage

On March 28, a Lenten pilgrimage organized by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) was denied entry to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows in Cuceglio, near Turin, Italy.
Despite being announced in advance, the church doors remained closed to the group, which included priests, religious sisters, and families who had walked several kilometers in devotion.
The pilgrims had planned no Mass or formal liturgy - only a few concluding prayers.
According to the local newspaper La Voce, the decision to close the gates to the pilgrims was made by the rector of the sanctuary, Don Luca Meinardi, and by Bishop Daniele Salera of Ivrea. The newspaper comments: "A choice that inevitably contradicts an ecclesiastical vocabulary which, in recent years, has emphasized words like welcome, inclusion, dialogue, and mercy."

Israeli police block Catholic cardinal from Jerusalem's Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday | ABS-CBN News
Israeli police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem from marking Palm Sunday at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre "for the first time in centuries," the Patriarchate said, with police citing security concerns linked to the Iran war. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Friar Francesco Ielpo were stopped by police while walking to the church, built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem said. Israeli police said all holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City – including those sacred to Christians, Muslims and Jews – had been closed to worshippers since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, particularly locations without bomb shelters. Police said they had rejected a request from the Patriarchate for a Palm Sunday exemption. Later on Sunday, Latin Patriarch led a ceremony for Palm Sunday at Gethsemane church …وڌيڪ

Leo XIV "Interested" in Solving Tensions around Roman Rite - French Bishop

During the January consistory, Leo XIV told Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline of Marseille, France, of his wish to explore avenues for resolving the tensions surrounding the Roman rite, La-croix.com reports, citing anonymous sources.
One bishop, who also wished to remain anonymous, said that Leo XIV is allegedly "extremely interested in the question and asked us to think something through".
Another bishop, who has spoken with Leo XIV about the Roman rite, said that "for the Pope, what is done in France serves as a model" for other countries.
"It is the first time I have heard so clearly that the subject must be addressed at a theological level and not just in a pastoral and emotional way," he added.
Another anonymous bishop, from the southeast, said: "Behind the attraction to beauty and the sacred, there is a whole theological debate that some do not perceive: a distant God versus a God who draws near - encompassing a whole relationship with the world, freedom of conscience and interreligious …وڌيڪ

One of the thieves crucified with Jesus, the other being traditionally known as Gestas; Dismas is the Good Thief, the one who rebuked the other, and asked for Christ’s blessing.
An old legend from an Arabic infancy gospel says that when the Holy Family were running to Egypt, they were set upon by a band of thieves, including Dismas and Gestas. One of the highwaymen realized there was something different, something special about them, and ordered his fellow bandits to leave them alone; this thief was the young Dismas.

St Dismas, March 25th.
ADPaul When the Jesuit, Fr Charles Dismas Clark died on 15 August 1963, the New York Times ran a long obituary with a two column headline: “Rev. C. Dismas Clark, 62, Dies; A Pastor of 3,500 Ex-Convicts.” It was a day on which tough men cried. According to Fr. Clark, the only person to whom Christ promised paradise is St.Dismas, the good thief.
The Penitent Thief, also known as the Good Thief, Grateful Thief or the Thief on the Cross, is one of two unnamed thieves in Luke's account of the crucifixion of Jesus in the New Testament. The Gospel of Luke describes him asking Jesus to "remember him" when Jesus arrives at his kingdom. The other, as the impenitent thief, challenges Jesus to save himself to prove that he is the Messiah.
He is officially venerated in the Catholic Church. The Roman Martyrology places his commemoration on 25 March, together with the Feast of the Annunciation, because of the ancient Christian tradition that Christ (and the penitent thief) were …وڌيڪ

"Amoris Laetitia" Was a "Breakthrough" for Church - Cardinal Schönborn

Pope Francis’ post-synodal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia, published on April 8, 2016, was a “breakthrough” for the Church. This was stated by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, 81, of Vienna, who had presented the document at the Vatican ten years ago, in an interview with Kathpress.at on March 30.
In a footnote, Francis "allowed" adulterers to grab Holy Communion using the case-by-case trick. Cardinal Schönborn commented: "That Pope Francis addressed the question of whether divorced and remarried persons may receive Communion only in a small footnote deeply moved me personally."
“When I take the document from my bookshelf or even just think about it, it still brings me to tears,” he added.
For many people in the Church - and for him personally - the document represented a “huge sigh of relief.” The reason, he explained, is that Francis speaks “about real life.”
Families in “difficult” situations should not be constrained or judged according to "rigid criteria". Instead, one …وڌيڪ

I pray that most of these seminarians will persevere and get ordained if it is God's will. When I was in the seminary, I had to play games in order to get approved. The rector even told me, that five years before, there would have been no problem for me. Many good and holy men quit the seminary because they were scandalized or because they were considered too rigid and too holy.
