Islam is a “magnificent faith” for Italian bishops. During the presentation of 11 teaching materials for Catholic religion classes in Italian schools, Rev. Valentino Cottini, former rector of the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI), praised Islam. The presentation was attended by the presiding Italian Cardinal, Matteo Zuppi. Rev. Cottini said that the school materials provide "an objective and empathetic presentation of Islam that does not shy away from difficulties, but illustrates this magnificent faith and splendid culture". The materials were developed jointly by Christian and Muslim scholars with the backing of the Italian Bishops' Conference.

The Vatican's “speech of inclusiveness and tolerance is not true, it is ideological and selective,” Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum.com following the Vatican’s ban on the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage procession entering St. Peter’s Basilica today. Schneider criticized the contradiction between the Church’s promotion of synodality and its exclusion of traditional Catholics. “A group of Catholics who are in good standing and recognize the Pope, pray for the Pope, for the bishops — exactly this group was banned,” he said. Schneider suggested that accusations of rejecting Vatican II are being used as a pretext to exclude traditional Catholics. “I think it could be a pretext also that they allegedly reject the Second Vatican Council. This is not the case at all.” He called the ban “very regrettable” and urged that justice be restored to traditional Catholics worldwide, particularly the growing number of young people attached to the ancient liturgy. #newsUccaywykec

Father Gnocchi in the company of mutilated children The dramatic experience of the retreat from Russia, lived as military ordinariate always on the front, matured in Gnocchi the idea and the focus of his charitable mission; assisting the victims of war, in search of redemption for their "innocent suffering". In 1945, he was nominated as director of the Istituto Grandi Invalidi (Institute of Registered Invalids) of Arosio, thus accepting the first orphans and adults disabled by the war. In 1948, he founded the "Fondazione Pro Infanzia Mutilata" ("Foundation For Mutilated Infants"), acknowledged in the next year with a decree by the President of Italy. They shouted “Woo!” and “Woo-hoo!” He responded with a broad smile (wait the whole minute for it). Such applause is routine for Leo XIV. He allows himself to be applauded, cheered and acclaimed every day, sometimes several times a day. One wonders how any ordinary man can endure such constant immersion in adulation.
