Brood of vipers! Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
You come seeking comfort, seeking easy words, seeking to have your ears tickled with the doctrines of this perverse and adulterous generation. But I tell you the truth, though it cut you to the heart: you have abandoned the ancient paths, and destruction awaits those who will not repent!
**THE ORDER ESTABLISHED IN PARADISE**
From the beginning it was not as you now imagine it! When the Almighty spoke creation into being, He established an order—eternal, immutable, written into the very fabric of existence itself!
God formed Adam from the dust. Adam—not Eve! He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. He placed him in the Garden. He gave him dominion. He spoke the commandment directly to him: "Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat."
And then—mark this well!—God declared, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." A helper! Not a co-ruler! Not an equal …More

Romans 5:12-15 [uncorrupted Douay Rheims BIBLE]
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death, and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.
13 For until the law, sin was in the world: but sin was not imputed, when the law was not.
14 But death reigned from Adam unto Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of the transgression of Adam, who is a figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the gift: for if by the offence of one, many have died: much more the grace of God, and the gift in the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Father George Leo Haydock teaches as follows:
For St. Paul here shews that the graces which Christ came to bestow upon men, and offers to all, are much greater than the evils which the sin of one man, Adam, caused.
1. Because, if by the offence of that one man, Adam, many, i.e. all died by …More

January 24, 2018 - Feast of St. Francis de Sales Francis de Sales,
The holy bishop and doctor of the Church we celebrate today is universally known as the saint of gentleness. You might be surprised, dear friends, to know that St. Francis de Sales had a naturally occurring temper known as "choleric." A human being's personality is the sum, so to speak, of character plus life experiences, especially the values—or, unfortunately, the disvalues—that one makes one's own.
To understand the incredible work of God's grace and, at the same time, the immense effort made by Francis to build his personality to the point of being considered a living icon of Jesus, meek and humble of heart, we must recall some elements of psychology.
To summarize as best we can, dear friends, according to psychology, character is the psychophysical structure with which one is born. It cannot be changed, but it can be educated.

Fake News: LifeSite claims that the [pro-homosexual, more evangelical than Catholic] new Archbishop Sithembele Sipuka of Cape Town has considered adding elements of pagan ubungoma into the Catholic liturgy. TRUE: In a plenary address of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Bishop Sithembele Anton Sipuka said traditional practices like ubungoma “offer spiritual power that competes with our loyalty and obedience to Christ.”

Does the Mass have a future?
The title may seem provocative, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the Mass has a future, because there is no Church without the Mass, and if the Church has already lasted two thousand years, it will last at least another two thousand, and I affirm this without any arrogance or pride, but out of the faith and conviction I feel. The title stems from some data we are receiving regarding the participation of Christians in Sunday Mass. Today the Church is very focused on large events and the statistics of these large events, large gatherings, pilgrimages, jubilees, and so on; there is great rejoicing at the mobilizations and crowds that gather, but it is important not to forget the reality of the concrete, everyday Church, the parochial reality of the Church. We may even have many cases of Christians who participate in these large events, but who are very distant from and indifferent to the parish to which they belong. It is also important that the Church does …More

One day a man was walking down the street when he noticed an old man sitting by the roadside.
“Grandpa, you’re wise,” he said. “Tell me what to do. I’m still young and strong, yet I can’t find a decent job. My son is lazy, my daughter is running wild, and my wife doesn’t lift a finger around the house. How do I fix my life?”
The old man looked at him and replied:
“Hang a sign on your front door that says: ‘It won’t always be this way.’”
Time passed.
The man eventually found a good job. His son started a business. His daughter got married and became a kind, responsible wife. His own wife grew gentle and caring, and their home finally felt warm again.
One day, driving down the road in his car, he noticed the same old man sitting in the same spot.
“Well old man, you’re still here?” he laughed. “Everything worked out for me. So what’s your advice now?”
The old man looked at him and said quietly: “Don’t take the sign down.”
Every saint has a past, every sinner a future.
Before he was a saint, Ignatius of Loyola was a soldier, diplomat, egoist, and womanizer driven by the desire for fame, fortune, and recognition.
Then, on the field of battle in 1521, he got a cannonball to the leg that nearly took it off.
In the blink of an eye, the arrogant, pompous, and worldly 18-year-old was humbled.
His military career was over just a year after it began.
He was carted away to recover what was left of himself and limped for the rest of his life.
It was during this time in recovery that he moved beyond the WORLDLY by reading The Lives of the Saints, recommended by his beloved sister-in-law, Magdalena.
