The Vatican has published new guidelines today, "Recollecting: Accompanying the Preparation of the Local Church's Evaluation Assembly," for the next stage of the Synod on Synodality. Every diocese is required to hold evaluation assemblies during the first half of 2027 to assess how the Synod's Final Document has been implemented. Bishops will lead the evaluation, establish or reactivate synodal teams, and approve a six- to eight-page narrative report to be submitted to Rome. They are also instructed to describe "transformations in decision-making processes, and reforms of structures" as part of their narrative report. New Zealand to Build First New Cathedral in Over 120 Years: The Diocese of Christchurch has unveiled the design for the new Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, which will stand on the site of the original cathedral destroyed after the devastating Canterbury earthquakes (2010-2011). The new cathedral will preserve historic stained-glass windows. It's a roughly $80 million New Zealand dollar project (about US$46m). The diocese is currently in a fundraising phase.
