Schneider criticized the contradiction between the Church’s promotion of synodality and its exclusion of traditional Catholics. “A group of Catholics who are in good standing and recognize the Pope, pray for the Pope, for the bishops — exactly this group was banned,” he said. Schneider suggested that accusations of rejecting Vatican II are being used as a pretext to exclude traditional Catholics. “I think it could be a pretext also that they allegedly reject the Second Vatican Council.
